In my opinion, this painting succeeds in capturing the essence of artistic frustration - those agonizing times in a creative person's life when creativity simply refuses to click. It's too bad Borsos did not paint one called "Dissatisfied Writer." I imagine I would be quite drawn to a painting like that. It would perfectly reflect how I have felt about my own writing in the past few weeks.
