I am not a big fan of divide and conquer tactics in general, but in terms of where we are in the spiritual war, I have reached a point where I welcome division over unity.
Having said that, it is becoming increasingly evident that the dichotomy between the pecked and unpecked is little more than fiction. Contrary to what the totalitarians promised, the state of being pecked is anything but permanent.
Many of those who complied with the peck believing it to be a one- (or two-) time deal are quickly discovering that pecked status is not a fixed condition.
Instead of being a safe harbor, the state of being pecked has become perilous odyssey - a veritable never-ending story of instability punctuated by arbitrary expiry dates and totalitarian whims.
Within this paradigm, a few months' time or a demonic snicker is all that separates the pecked from the unpecked. Sadly, in an effort to safeguard their coveted status, many of the pecked have degraded themselves to the level of junkies, forever on the lookout for the next hit in order to stay "safe".
Here's the deal: All pecked people are in constant jeopardy of being relegated back to the level of the unpecked, regardless of how many times they have complied. And this will not change as long as the pecked insist on being pecked.
It doesn't have to be this way.
The pecked can get off the merry-go-round and can put an end to the false dichotomy at any time. All it requires is acknowledgement and repentance.
After that, they can shift their focus to real security and permanence . . .
