A Few Thoughts About the Inflation Situation

Whenever I visit the grocery store these days, I’m reminded of a tweet William James Tychonievich featured on his blog:

William had to following to say about the tweet: "I swear this is an honest-to-God tweet from the White House, not a parody. They're literally boasting about how their "economic plan" is saving you 16 cents."

As ridiculous as that tweet was, saving that 16 cents would certainly be welcome now.

I don't personally know how the situation is in other parts of the world, but inflation here in Hungary is tearing through the country like a category five hurricane.

I did the math the other day and ruefully determined that the recent price hikes at the grocery store will gobble up about one extra month's worth of my gross salary over the course of the year if -- big if -- prices remain where they are and do not increase any further. Put simply, I'm a month's worth of pay poorer now.

When I add that to the birdemic-peck induced job loss I incurred back in October, I come to the realization that I’m actually about three or four months’ worth of salary poorer than I was at this time last year.

Before going on, I would like to stress that I share this personal information here purely for illustrative purposes, not to evoke worry or pity. Rest assured, my family is very far from being in dire straits, but that has little to do with the overall point I wish to make in this post.

Anyway, it goes without saying the rampant price increases here in Hungary are not limited to food. Everything else has also gone up. Some products have seen moderate ten or twenty percent hikes; others have literally doubled or tripled overnight. Every time I purchase something, I end up spending more on it and end up having less to save or to spend on something else.

You don't need a degree in economics to figure out where all of this is headed. You also don't need a degree in philosophy or political science to understand that this sort of financial pressure is part and parcel of the totalitarian demonic agenda that it went into full force after the 2020 global coup.

It is critical to remember that the demonic powers have re-calibrated the System into war mode. They will use every material means at their disposal to ramp up the demonic pressure, and they will not stop until they reach their double goal of destruction and damnation.

We as individuals may not be able to do much about the first demonic goal. The demons may very well succeed in bringing everything down and making life "materially" miserable for all. In the meantime, they will continue to ratchet up their material weapons to make life increasingly uncomfortable and difficult. With this in mind, it is imperative to remember where our focus should be.

As I mentioned above, the demonic agenda relies primarily on material weapons to attain spiritual ends. The material weapons are designed to instill worry, fear, hatred, desperation, depression, apathy, despair (etc.) to tug people toward the personal choice for damnation.

Only spiritual means can overcome the fear, hatred, desperation, depression, apathy, despair (etc.) the demonic agenda feverishly works to instill, which brings me to the larger point of this post: Concentrate on these spiritual means.

Here's one that is particularly pertinent to what we are facing today:

Don’t worry over earthly bread; focus on the bread of life.

We just made an exciting start on The Tower of Dago - whoever's 1899 translation (free online) of Mór Jókai's A dagői torony (published in 1882 in Targallyak): " how if it were to occur to the body that it is really the master and the other the slave, and the soul were to be trodden under foot?" queries the Master of the Tower in chapter three. I won't give spoilers - may all who read this refrain, too, for a while, as Jókai is a writer full of surprises, in my slight experience so far...
