I was browsing László Mednyánszky paintings online today, and I stumbled upon one that immediately caught my eye -- not for its quality but for its symbolic relevance to current external events. The bleak, simplistic image features a stretch of fence, several crows, and not much else.

It may be just me, but this painting messes with my eyes a bit. To be specific, I can't tell from which angle I'm viewing the fence.

@ Evan - Good observation. I suspect that's intentional. Perhaps a "fog of war" effect or something of that nature.

My response was very like EP's - I thought at first I was looking at an abstract collage by an avant garde conceptual artist. Now I've seen the painting, I can't really capture what I first saw - but it was 2 dimensional, without depth, an arrangement of colours and textures....
