A Turning Point Regardless

In yesterday's post I touched upon the much needed but unlikely development of what could be termed mass moment of truth; more specifically, a mass moment of spiritual truth. Any potential moment of truth at the level of the masses invariably involves a large, obvious crisis that the masses cannot avoid facing. Such a crisis then invariably leads to a "mass" test that forces a "mass" decision.

Well, 2020 certainly contained a large and obvious "crisis" that has indeed tested the masses. Unfortunately, the decision the majority of people have apparently made in response to the crisis has not led to a "moment of truth" in the strictest sense of the term. On the contrary, 2020 appears to have inspired a "moment of untruth"; more specifically, large-scale acceptance and confirmation of the Big Lies that culminated in "the point" the year 2020 revealed.

An authentic true moment of truth at the level of the masses would require widespread acceptance of the Truth, which in turn would require a self-generated shift in human consciousness driven by an extensive re-spiritualization of large groups of people. Confidently declaring that something of this nature is currently taking place at the level of the masses is, at best, wishful thinking. Nevertheless, I do believe that moments of truth have occurred at the level of the individual, and that the events of 2020 have inspired decisive changes leading to beneficial spiritual outcomes in the lives of individuals.

And that, in itself, represents a significant turning point - regardless.

2020 was the "moment of untruth"

That's very good - should be the title!

Thanks, Bruce. Yes, I think you're right. I'll keep that in mind for titles of future posts about 2020.

“You can always count on the Americans to do the right thing after they have tried everything else.” -Anonymous Irishman

I always get a chuckle from that quote (falsely attributed to Churchill). To me it exposes a truth about human nature: we are too frequently stubborn & must experience pain and suffering learn and grow. I wonder if that could be the trajectory of most people?

People are capitulating under the false belief of returning to "normal." But, the elite have already told us our prison is the "new normal." The lack of backbone, the failure to see, must be born of fear. Ironically, this will be the very feedback loop they exploit (fear -> repression -> fear, etc...). You can infer this cycle from the news hysteria of "new" virus mutations in the UK "justifying" further restrictions.

So, the choice will get starker as vaccines are "suggested," vaccine travel passes created, and then made mandatory (to be administered at least 2x a year). Travel will slow, and then be made impossible for resisters. The imposed economic collapse will further justify more repression. If a more lethal mutation arises (natural or man-made), you can expert real anger and violence to be directed at such wrongthinkers (church goers, skeptics, etc...).

This Hell-on-Earth will finally cause some to wake from their stupor. Others--not taken in by the agiprop and fear--can bear witness to a "lightness of being," reflecting the ultimate spiritual reality (as was seen in the Pskov Caves Monastery during Soviet repression). Whether this is an end, or The End, doesn't matter as we should respond in the same way: with love, charity and hope.

@ Magnus -- Yes, those are valid observations. If viewed from the proper perspective and with the right metaphysical assumptions, suffering should indeed open opportunities for learning and growth, but our societies have been conditioned to regard suffering as the greatest of all great evils - as something that must be avoided at all cost - as something from which one cannot learn anything useful. As a result, my faith in suffering leading to some sort of Dostoevskian spiritual rebirth among the masses is, at best, tenuous. Nevertheless, suffering will undoubtedly be a catalyst for change for some, as you state in the final paragraph of your comment.

These are truly remarkable times. I find it extremely difficult to gauge how the masses will respond or what the masses may or may not do. However, like you, I do believe some individuals and families - perhaps even some small communities - have experienced genuine moments of truth.
