"who are we saving it for?" To which the globalist totalitarians would say 'Everybody, not just native Hungarians' - and they would think this sufficient answer.

Of course, anybody stupid/ evil/ dishonest enough to believe that the earth is threatened by CO2 and plastic drinking straws, and will be saved by windmills that never turn and empty miles of bicycle tracks, is not really serious about anything except creating new income sources and excuses for totalitarian takeover for the Global Establishment.

@ Bruce - Yes, quite right. For his part, Orbán and his government has done an excellent job trolling the globalists by wrenching the climate change sword from their hands and pointing it back at them.

Some recent quotes:

Last year one of Orban's senior ministers called Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg a "sick child" and her street movement "repellent" to ordinary Hungarians.

"We will plant 10 trees for each newborn, which will increase the country's forest area by 27 per cent by 2030," the nationalist prime minister said in his annual state-of-the-nation address.

Orban told reporters at a press conference last week that "the protection of the created environment and of nature just on a biblical basis is an especially Christian democratic policy".

"Conserving nature for our children and grandchildren can be imagined as conserving something that was created by God," Peter Kaderjak, a state secretary for the environment, told AFP afterwards.
