I was waiting for WmJas to chip-in - but this painter's Christ (using the same model) is the sort-of-official image of Jesus much used by the CJCLDS:

Thanks for that, Bruce. I had no idea the CJCLDS used Hofmann's Christ as its official image.

The current hysteria to have the world focus on only on the economy and the virus made me think of the Rich Man parable - the trap of over-attachment to and over-focus on the purely material at the expense of the larger perspective.

Hofmann's is one of two Christ portraits commonly used by the CJCLDS, the other (very different) one being by the Mormon painter Del Parson.

Carl Bloch's paintings of scenes in the life of Christ are also very widely used by the CJCLDS, and the church's Bible videos (very well done and often linked-to by Bruce) use Bloch's general aesthetic as a model.

@ Bruce, Wm - Thanks, gentlemen! Very informative. You expanded my perspective of this artist and his paintings - to say nothing of other depictions of Christ.
