If your church no longer follows Jesus, then exactly whom or what are you following via your church?
This issue has been raised in various ways over the past four or five months, but I believe it bears repeating in the form a simple, concise question:
If your church no longer follows Jesus, then exactly whom or what are you following via your church?

We actually have a really good Catholic parish where I live. There's a younger, very traditionally oriented Priest who mostly does the Latin mass, and an older Priest, very politically incorrect Priest, who does the English, but in a very "traditional" form. Last week he said to stock up on food and water for your family and to share with neighbors if necessary. He said we may be in revolutionary times, and need to always be prepared to die for our Faith as Catholics - and that many, even most may fall away. This isn't a "schism" Church or anything, but under the local diocese.

@ Andrew - This is good to hear. No doubt, pockets of uncorrupted individuals within the various church systems do exist. Unfortunately, they are vastly outnumbered by the corrupted ones - and it is the corrupted ones who are driving policy.

A harrowing thought there. I recently ventured back into a few churches to see if there was any I would expose my two young boys to. Interestingly the Eastern Orthodox church we had attended for a while had the least-intrusive virus measures. I think any might be too much for me, though.

@ Nathan - "Dr. Charlton warned us at the start of this. It is still a shock to see it play out."

@Nathan - If you’re Catholic, don’t try to church shop among non-Catholic churches as this will just water down your faith.

@ Andrew - "We are effectively living under a communist regime and must understand that - we are already the underground Church."

In my state (and it's a terrible one with the governor addicted to power) the SSPX are virtually unaffected by the regime rules. Not only that--our priest is fighting back using the law.

I left my Catholic church in May and haven't found a substitute yet. I am preparing my family to flee the State in which we live- Ingemar I believe we live in the same State- i am looking forward to finding a new church in our new State. The new community has a strong homeschooling presence and my visit last week found compliance to the birdemic restrictions very lax. I am hoping to find a church with equally lax adherence to the restrictions. At this point I don't care if it's "watered down" (as a previous poster stated), I just want a community where Christ is at the center instead of fear and insanity. I can argue the details later.
