It was night when I was sleeping but then I woke up!

There is actually a chapter in the Albion Awakening book that refers to this which is basically the progression, and it is a progression, from the view of ultimate reality as impersonal to being fully and wholly personal.

There is a standard mystical experience in which the soul seems to dissolve into light and this is regarded by the mystic as higher than God or the stuff out of which even God himself is made. In fact, it is simply that out of which he forms being and in his person he is beyond that, transcendent to it. That is why union in love with God is a higher state than absorption into pure being.
