Hope and The System - A Repost Redux

11/9/2022

I sense the latest installment of "vote for the System" has led to dashed hopes, yet again.

In light of this, I will repost a repost of a post on nurturing hope for the System. Something to think about next time you are tempted to "get your hopes up" about anything related to the System.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________

The first sin is simply the sin of despair. For any serious Christian, the mere notion of despair should be anathema. After all, how could any serious Christian ever lose hope in the example of Christ? Above all else, the Resurrection is a testament against hopelessness. When Jesus defeated death, he proved, beyond all doubt, that we have nothing to fear or feel hopeless about, neither in this world nor in life everlasting. The trials and tribulations of this world cannot destroy the next world if we follow His example and believe on Him.

The second sin is the nurturing of hope for a System that is inherently antithetical to God - that is, diametrically opposed to Truth, Beauty, and Virtue. The System is not only anti-Good, it has been meticulously engineered to actively wage war against the Good. Any experienced beneficial side effects of the System are either remnants from an earlier time (when the System itself may have been less inherently evil) or purely material by-products that offer nothing above the level of physical comfort, convenience, or pleasure.

To lose hope over a System that was designed to generate perpetual hopelessness, a System whose sole purpose in the past century (at least) has been to deny and destroy the Truth at every possible turn is akin to a Gulag prisoner losing hope in the proper, effective functioning of the Gulag that tortures him and keeps him captive.

The manner in which the System is faltering or collapsing (take your pick) is not something we should be celebrating or embracing. By the same token, it is also not something we should be resisting or despairing over. The System should have faltered or collapsed decades, nay centuries ago, but this development should have been achieved through our own willed decision to turn away from the System and establish a new mode of Being.

Yet we resisted and rejected that much needed shift of consciousness every time the opportunity to take it up arose. Instead of committing to this much-needed and, at times, sorely overdue consciousness shift we chose instead to double-down on our hope in the System. What we are experiencing now is an epic case of reaping what we have sown. Rather than despair, we should be feeling sorrow and shame - sorrow and shame that we collectively ever allowed ourselves to become materially-enslaved to such evil.

The faltering or total collapse of the System will undoubtedly generate much discomfort, hardship, and pain . . . perhaps even death. It is difficult and unsettling to consider what may await us all - our family, friends, loved ones, and the countless people we don't know - as the System continues to crumble, but we must never forget that all hope in the System is fundamentally sinful and misguided. The System was designed to abandon us. The System was designed to work against us. Hope in the System is, at best, hope invested in totalitarian, bureaucratic tyranny; at worse, it is hope invested in something even more sinister.

Any feeling of despair over the System is a declaration of the victory of evil. Hope, faith, and love are crucial in the here and now, but we should remain vigilant about where we place our hope, faith, and love.

God is a loving Creator. He will never abandon you. He will never work against you. He will arrange the material world in such a way that it becomes what each of us needs to nurture our continued spiritual growth and development. Our continued spiritual growth and development may not necessarily entail our continued material growth and development. This is a difficult pill to swallow for some Christians, but swallowed it must be.

God will never abandon us. God will never work against us. We must remember not to abandon or work against Him. In fact, the time has come to take up the cause our ancestors neglected to take up and begin working with Him creatively. That requires a total shift in consciousness, but that is what is needed, now more than ever.

Note added: Any feeling of despair, especially despair for the System, must be repented. We are all bound to taste despair in the weeks and months ahead. Having said that, it is one thing to taste despair and repent it; it is quite another thing to taste despair and then voluntarily feast on it.

Initially I had intended to sit this election out altogether. I had not been keeping up w/ the polls as I had honestly lost interest after 2020. However, when the CDC approved the child peck shots, I reluctantly decided to vote straight ticket GOP. I can't stand the GOP, but at least I figured they would hinder the worst of the birdemic agenda. Yes, the lesser than two evils is still evil. However, I still felt an obligation to protect the children even though I have yet to have any of my own.

While elections will not save America or any country, I think they can be quite illuminating. For example, I was honestly surprised how much of my demographic (white college educated women) will cling to child sacrifice even if their standard of living deteriorates. A red wave was expected due to the economic situation. Inflation, high gas prices, peck shot mandates for children, nuclear war, etc. ought to have been a slam dunk. However, even the pollsters underestimated how vile college educated white women are. They prioritized killing unborn children even as they risk freezing to death this winter.

I learned that I still have materialistic biases. I figured most Americans would vote for the economy and not worry too much over hot button issues. However, white college educated women will happily accept poverty as long as they can sacrifice their unborn.

While this election will ultimately not matter in the grand scheme of things; it has revealed a hard truth. Modern man (or woman in this case) is so damaged that he will accept physical hardship to hold on to his sins. People are prioritizing the spiritual over the physical. It's just they are on the opposite side of the good.

I apologize for the blackpill thread. It was a mistake to fuss over this election much at all. I'm not in despair for the system at all. However, it is grievous to see how my demographic is enthralled to evil that they will harm themselves.

@Lady Mermaid - People are damaged; no doubt about that!

I think we must remember that we are all connected to the System and whether we like to admit it or not, we are all physically dependent on the System to greater or lesser degrees. For lack of a better term, I would call this dependence "necessity".

Having said that, I think we have to determine the degree of our involvement with this necessity. This helps determine our "level" of freedom, particularly spiritual freedom (which is the only real freedom there is). Put another way, it is probably best to limit the level of our participation to "necessity" and focus the rest of our energies on being spiritually free. If we do this, we can overcome necessity despite being dependent on it.

Everyone who lived in the communist countries in Europe depended on the System within those countries. Some participated in the communism wholeheartedly; others, not so much -- particularly not in spirit. I have referred to this sort of thing as system-distancing.

Anyway, as the years dragged on, fewer and fewer people chose to participate in the System, despite their being dependent. Pretty soon, nearly everyone had distanced themselves from the System. And then one fine morning, the System collapsed.

I don't want to compare what happened during communism to what is happening today because it's apples and oranges. Still, I think there is something to be said for system distancing and non-participation.

Systems know we depend on them materially/physically, but what they really want is our souls and spirit -- and the best way to get those is by ensuring our "participation" extends well beyond "necessity".

Absolutely! I'm seeing this spiritual dependency w/ the Desantis v/ Trump "fight". It's already starting to get quite ugly. How can anyone think D.C. can be reformed at this point?

Interestingly, succession from states is a minority but growing option. Some of Virginia wishes to be free from NOVA and join W. Virginia. Parts of Oregon wish to join Idaho. Some counties from IL are tired of being dominated by Chicago. The hard truth is that the United States as a political entity is on borrowed time. We need to accept that reality and focus on the future post System.

Yes the hoped for Red Wave didn't happen but it was actually even worse than that because young people wholeheartedly voted for abortion, LGBT and legalization of weed. Degeneracy was on ballot and it won. Roe v Wade was overturned but now abortion is enshrined in the constitutions of States like Montana and Kentucky. How can this be better? I think about this when people crow about the supreme Court overturning affirmative action. What horrors will be coming down the pike in the state legislatures after that! There is literally no one to save us now. What, Russia? Please. the same disease that infects the west infects them, it just hasn't progressed as far. But it is better for me to fall into the power of men than to forsake the law of my God. It's all so clear cut. All the confusion, the shades of gray, the muck of the relatively morality of our youth has all been washed away leaving a clear stream. I don't feel despair but I'm not without fear for what is coming and I pray that I will be given the grace to endure.

Yes, it is all very clear and becoming clearer with each passing day, which means we can expend less energy on discerning and invest more into overcoming that fear you mention. After all, discernment means very little if we allow it to be ruled by fear.
