Lies Have No Future

The old adage a "lie takes care of the present, but it has no future" sprung to mind today. As is the case with most proverbs and sayings, it stems from obscure origins. Some attribute the maxim to Croft M. Pentz; others attach it to that most prolific and profound of thinkers, Anonymous. Whatever the case, the adage contains a hard kernel of truth.

Manipulation is the center of any lie. When a lie "takes care" of the present, it is basically manipulating the present away from truth and reality and engineering a false present in its place. The false present of a lie is not the real present, but a manufactured present posing as the real present. That is what is being "taken care of".

Sustaining, overseeing, and managing the "fake reality" of the lie inevitably necessitates more lies, all of which work to expand the original lie and remove it even further from truth of the real present.

The energy and effort required to maintain the fabricated present prevents the formation of any real future. The lie is able to move forward in time, but since it has separated itself from the truth it has no chance at a real future in time-yet-to-come. Instead, the fake reality of the present gets locked into a perpetual-motion, feedback- loop cycle that never goes anywhere, but sinks forever deeper into the pit of its own absurd contrivances.

And that is essentially where our world is today - locked into lies that have "taken care" of the present by successfully removing virtually everyone and everything from truth and reality, and, consequently, removing virtually everyone and everything from the prospect of a real future.

When the Father of Lies rebelled against God and Creation, he rejected reality and truth and imprisoned himself in a fabricated perpetual present from which he finds it impossible to "escape" into the future.

The Father of Lies refuses to do the things that would provide him with a future. As a result, he has no future of which to speak. Unsurprisingly, he despises and resents all who may still have a future before them. He knows the Truth is the only real present. Moreover, he also knows the Truth is eternal. The Truth extends into the real past and is the only authentic future.

The Dreaded Spirit works to deny this authentic future by convincing souls to willingly restrict confine themselves to the deception of his phony present where all will end up like him - future-less.

@Frank - That's an excellent insight. It helps explain exactly the sense I have of being unable to anticipate the future; and of the utter unreality of the projected futures of the totalitarian Establishment.

@ Bruce - Thanks. As I said in the post, the deeper implications of the old adage just up and hit me the other day.

Excellent! The sense of not having a future was the air I breathed after leaving school, and it almost destroyed me as a young adult, brainwashed as I was on the lies of mainstream, secular, revolutionary, modernity. I have somehow been saved from that hell, but see others still in it, destroying themselves trying to make their fake present matter enough to maintain it into the future.
