Pitchforks? Really?

When the people become aware of "such-and-such" or wake up to "what's really going on" or understand "this-and-that" or realize "whatever there is to realize", then the pitchforks will come out and, by golly, there'll be hell to pay!

I've come across quite a few of these "pitchfork" blog posts and articles over the past two-plus years, all gleefully promising a day of reckoning during which the masses will finally awaken from their stupor and rise up against the powers-that-should-not-be.

I could be wrong, but I see nothing in my daily life or the greater world that points to any sort of pitchfork uprising. Complacency, compliance, and cowardice together with bountiful heaps of apathy, indifference, and denial are pretty much all I see.

A day of reckoning -- replete with pitchforks -- may very well come . . . one day . . . but I personally do not believe it will. Or -- more precisely -- if it ever arises, it will not be an organic rebellion against the Establishment. Instead, it will likely be something the Establishment foments to use for its own purposes.

And what does it matter in the end? Nothing short of spiritual awakening will suffice. And that will not happen at the level of the masses but at the level of the individual. One person at a time.

I have learned since living through the "pandemic" that a very similar thing was done with HIV AIDS and if you ask the average person today they will tell you the narrative of the lie we were call told and fully believe it. Similarly with the entire history of vaccines so I would agree with you that a mass awakening, as wonderful as that would be, is unlikely to occur.

People will react when there is nothing to eat. Hunger will drive them to violence. When people realize they have nothing left to lose, they will fight back.

@ Diane - That could happen. Of course, it will difficult to predict where such violence will be aimed. It could very well be aimed at neighbors who happen to still have food in the pantry.

Then again, the people could simply be starved into total submission. This will come off as overly negative, but based on what I have witnessed in the past two years, submission seems more likely than fighting back.

Agreed. I used to believe that there were some things that would not be tolerated because they violated evolved instincts - but many of these have long since been violated with no comeback, or are being violated by choice.

Two examples - I would not have believed that people would accept the deliberate destruction of their children's capacity to reproduce - that is a very basic biological violation. Nor would I have believed that (in some mass shootings) healthy young men would be so docile as to allow themselves to be executed without even attempting to fight back. I would not have believed that a majority of young women would permanently make themselves less attractive by self mutilation with tattoos.

Our population is so deeply damaged; that historically normal human behaviours and instincts do not apply; and history is no guide to the future from here.

@ Bruce - I've had some fairly heated discussions about this with family members who believe the people will rise up - any day now. Those who subscribe to this view love to point to historical examples as proof of the inevitability of such an event. However, as you say, history no longer applies. We are in truly unprecedented times, and the population is indeed deeply damaged.

Until we have nothing to lose, things will remain the same. Bread and circuses, or modern day equivalent of entertainment and 401K's/$$ keep the masses sated and paralyzed.

The way I see it (and the way I operate) is, Nothing Happens as long as the Lights are On and Food (or some chemical substitute) is available at the Grocery Store. Beer, too, and Carrots for my Horse.
Reality is that until people are Hungry and Cold in the Dark, there is No real Reason for them to "Revolt". That is a Historical Fact, along with that Most, if not All, "Revolutions" are fomented by (sometimes rather small) Political Groups or Factions. And even then, here must be a certain amount of Discontent with the existing situation for enough people to "Join the Rebellion" in order for it to be successful.

That is why the Entire Existence of the 'surveillance state' and all of its Gestapo 'agencies' are focused ONLY on Identifying, co-opting, or Eliminating Anyone who appears to be a valid "Leader" of a rebellion against the Regime. Notice the formation of the "Ministry of Truth" to "Combat Disinformation". This illustrates clearly that the Regime is 'Losing control of the Narrative' and must now work to Actively Suppress any Dissent or Truth that Contradicts the Big Lie.

I fully expect that there will be a "Violent Rebellion", but it will only come after a Socioeconomic "Collapse" never seen before on this Planet. Or, as it seems more likely each Day, The Bear gets fed up with being 'Poked', and drops some Canned Sunshine on those Globalist Headquarters that are the Problem.

@ Gryphon - Some good points there. I guess the only question is whether the rebellion following collapse will be authentic or agitated. The rebellion may or may not happen, but a collapse will.

I think that on 1/6, the American powers-that-shouldn't-be thought the pitchforks were coming for them, which is the reason for their extreme overreaction. The wicked flee when no man pursueth.

@ Wm - You could be right. On the other hand, it could be an example of the powers-that-shouldn't-be fomenting the whole thing to suit their own purposes. Having said that, I haven't been tracking the event too closely and don't know many of the details.

That opportunity arose during the 2020 riots in west coast cities and in Kenosha, Pheonix, New York, Denver, Chicago, Boston, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Portland, Richmond, Seattle, St. Louis, Washington, D.C. Police were ordered by mayors, city councils and governors to stand down. Looters and rioters tore the hell out of private property and assaulted innocents. That would have been the time to get involved as a civilian force. That chance just might happen again when the radical left loses its' collective mind over the next media hyped controversy.

A few genuine pitchforks have showed up, at least in the eyes of the wielders, but their narratives have been captured from the start, or very early on so far. I don't have an easy solution to that issue, because it involves the question which organizational forms of people are the most robust against corruption, and the follow up question if the solution even exists in that realm. To some extent it does, but in my view because of only one thing; psychopathy is far easier to recognize in small, localized structures with a high frequency of actual human contact. If your experience with certain people is reduced to soundbites and the acting work they choose to reveal, you might be fooled much easier.

Of course there is still an inherent problem in the sense of automatic cognitive dissonance; it is very very difficult to imagine the psychopathic attitude towards life when you do not believe it is dominant, or even exists; natural human tendencies assume that 'most people are not that dissimilar to oneself'. And because of that, as well as other very serious and glaring issues of course, most people assume that everything in the world happens by 'accident, circumstance, trial and error, or ignorance'. As Lex Fridman used to repeat ad nauseam to my annoyance 'surely evil cannot be (that) competent'. This is a mantra that a lot of (fairly intelligent) people tell themselves. And by extension they will also convince themselves that they are never in the 'employ of evil' - because surely it is something else. Apart from the spiritual void that has formed, the realization that the 'lunatics are in charge' might bring out pitchforks that are not misguided. Even then though, organic movements can fall flat too; bringing down any system before giving serious thought about the 'what next' question on all levels will lead to problems. The alternative needs to be ready before the process even starts really, which starts with the question 'what DO i actually want?' instead of 'what do i currently reject?'. Sounds easy, but within realistic confines rather then 'i want chocolate fountains in every city' - It's actually a rather difficult question.
