My father and I are both a little older and both a little slower, but the joy of working together remains (even during the disagreements and heated debates about measurements and angles).
Working on some sort of renovation/construction project is what my dad and I inevitably end up doing whenever we are together for any extended period of time. This summer has been no different.

Would like to see a picture of the other side to see how you tied in the existing chimney to the new roof.

@ Michelle - Not well. I've made many mistakes on this project. I should have extended the roof out a little further past the chimney. Still, what I do have will work, but it could have been done better in retrospect.

There was some random comment on some site my mom read and told me about recently. Something to the effect of someone saying "Nothing you say can ever hurt me. I used to hold the flashlight for my dad."

Touching story. I've always loved construction, even though it's not my "day job" (I prefer electrical and plumbing over rough construction and finishing). But, my real question: have you discussed the vexx with your father? Many boomers in the states are pro-vexx. It's been a disappointing experience for me talking to that generation...

@ Magnus - My dad nearly took it before flying to visit us here in Hungary. He was under the impression he needed it to fly. I informed him that wasn't the case. He decided to skip it and submit to testing instead. I don't think he is very keen on getting it now.
