The Endless Drone of Unapologetic Incoherence

Incoherence. An endless drone of incoherence from all sides and from every conceivable angle. With each passing day it becomes more intense, more inconsistent, and more unintelligible. Running parallel with this is the unwillingness to acknowledge the incoherence - the constant acting as if the lack of orderly continuity is actually orderly continuity. Framing all of this is the total lack of penitence displayed by those who actively generate, distribute, and promote the incoherence.

Don't get me wrong - I don't expect anyone who actively opposes God to fall to his or her knees and publicly cry out in repentance, but at the same time I imagined I would catch a glimpse of remorse every once in a while; that I would pick up the faint scent of compunction here and there; that I would detect nervous whispers of regret beneath the droning. At the very least I anticipated mild expressions of doubt seeping through now and again. But I have yet to sense anything of the kind, and I doubt I will see much of it in the future.

Look, the evil we face now is unabashedly unapologetic. And why not? Relentless and unmerciful, it simply does not care about what anyone thinks because it has come to the perfectly correct conclusion that barely anyone thinks at all.

Yes, I was just talking about this kind of thing today. What is particularly dismaying is that people I once respected seem to have not the faintest inkling of where we already are and where we are going; or else maybe they actually want to go there.

eg. The universities are being incrementally converted into prisons - with positive testers numbers in solitary confinement in a single room and many tens of thousands confined to their flat with restricted supervised exercise; it seems that people are just shrugging, complaining a bit but... Accepting.

@ Bruce - I'm surprised at how almost no one appears willing to defend the "normal" that has all but disappeared, especially since "normal" appeared to provide the only meaning most could find in life - distractions, travel, hedonism, endless potential sexual encounters, weekly inebriation marathons, etc.

The shrugging acceptance of everything that has transpired and is transpiring is incredible. The spiritual contagion has proven to be deeper than I ever could have possibly imagined.

In my conversations with people, they just assume everything is fine and normal as long as the majority is going along with it. I think the only thing that would break their spell is if it appeared to them that the majority does not consent (but as long as the Mass Media is where people get their sense of reality, that will never happen).

You are singled-out and vilified if you dare suggest anything extra is going on, let alone if you dare suggest one should alter their behavior or go against government mandates.

Yes, it is. Absolutely extraordinary. Night clubs, casual sex, having a good time, etc, were spun and hyped for so long that for me, growing up in 80s/90s England, it literally became part of the air we breathed. And I fell for under the spell myself at times, I confess.

I bitterly regret that now because in a flash all that's been taken away. It was always meant to be taken away. 50 years of pushing that 'pleasure line' has done its work and created the kind of godless, passive public we see around us today. I'm only glad I found a more meaningful orientation in time.

One nightclub DJ, Sister Bliss, complained recently that the UK government has left the nightclub industry 'to rot.' Well, so it has, because all that kind of thing has done its work and now there's no more need for it.

But the apathy with which all this has been greeted shows just how little people were really attached to it at all. Not deep down, I mean. They (we) never realised the scale and level of manipulation going on. But once you read books like That Hideous Strength and reflect on them seriously, that's when you realise how deep the deception is and who's pulling the strings.

@ Islanti - Yes, people prefer official incoherence to unofficial coherence.

Reminds me: "Whom the gods would destroy they first make mad" ( v. 620–623 of Sophocles’ play Antigone). Ancient, but still relevant.

Similar divine punishment is mentioned in various parts of the Bible, from Exodus (God hardening Pharaoh's heart) to St. Paul (God Gave Them Over to a Debased Mind). We appear to be witnessing a similar phenomenon today.

@ John - Good points. Fittingly enough, I just learned the British government has essentially banned casual sex.
