The Establishment Starts Marketing Its Totalitarian Solution To Our Current Problem

Well, I have to admit - that didn't take long.

Excerpts from an article titled Gordon Brown calls for global government to tackle coronavirus, taken from The Guardian, March 26.

Gordon Brown has urged world leaders to create a temporary form of global government to tackle the twin medical and economic crises caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The former Labour prime minister, who was at the centre of the international efforts to tackle the impact of the near-meltdown of the banks in 2008, said there was a need for a taskforce involving world leaders, health experts and the heads of the international organisations that would have executive powers to coordinate the response.

A virtual meeting of the G20 group of developed and developing countries, chaired by Saudi Arabia, will be held on Thursday, but Brown said it would have been preferable to have also included the UN security council.
. . .

Brown said there had been resistance in 2008 to using the G20 as a vehicle for tackling the financial crisis, but that it should be clear to world leaders that there was no possibility of a go-it-alone approach working.

“We need some sort of working executive,” Brown said. “If I were doing it again, I would make the G20 a broader organisation because in the current circumstances you need to listen to the countries that are most affected, the countries that are making a difference and countries where there is the potential for a massive number of people to be affected - such as those in Africa.”

It's great to see all these people who saved the world in 2008/2009 are more than willing to step up to the plate one more time to save humanity from imminent disaster.

Bless 'em.

I love the inclusion of the word "temporary" when mentioning global governance there Gord. Very slick.

Terry Boardman's work makes clear (by extensive documentation) that world government has been an explicit (albeit rather covert) programme for Anglo-American-European leaders since the late 19th century - the ground had been long prepared. They were simply looking for an excuse and an opportunity. Now, they seem to have it - and I do not expect they will hold back. Clearly, a world government of sorts already exists; as the Very rapid takeover and convergence of nearly all nations into 'lockdown' has made clear. But they need some kind of figurehead (a 17 year old girl, perhaps?) and committee-based 'front' to rubber-stamp these activities. What perhaps stands in their way are China, Russia, maybe India... And the (I think) fact - that They (or Some of Them) are rapidly, day-by-day, probably irreversibly, destroying... collapsing the vast and complex global technological and economic infrastructure which would be needed by a world government.

@ Bruce - Yes, I have grown to appreciate many of Terry Boardman's insights, and I thank you for bringing him to my attention via your blog.

There's nothing covert about it - that much is clear. Nevertheless, I am beginning to sense that this manufactured chaos they have initiated may be bigger than them and much larger than they bargained. Something must have happened in the background six-to-twelve months ago to motivate them to act with such haste and desperation. I can't imagine what that thing was - perhaps geopolitical challenges. Whatever it was, it has launched them into a situation I feel they might not be able to control. Collapse is a very real possibility now. A few more weeks, and it becomes probability.

Jordan Peterson, whose star has lost its luster ever since he admitted himself to rehab for Klonopin addiction, once quipped to his students regarding WW2 (I paraphrase):

"Most of you would not be concentration camp inmates, but prison guards."

As wrong as Peterson was about many things, I believe he was right about this. We are seeing pockets of resistance to this totalitarian agenda, but the Establishment has all the money, guns and voices--while we are huddled in our mouse cages, unable to assemble. Providentially the Catholic Church is refusing to provide supernatural aide as well.

If anyone is going to turn this around it will be the martyrs. However, the solution will not be quick. We are living the fruits of half a century of compromise with evil and spiritual sloth.

@ Ingemar - For me, Jordan Peterson lost his luster around the time he had his famous interview with Cathy Newman. Until then I found him to be rather interesting and even a potential force for good. I took an interest in him right from the start because I grew up in Toronto and am vehemently against the whole trans-agenda. I appreciated his criticism of communism, his love of Solzhenitsyn, and his anti-PC stance. I even thought he might have been trying to re-introduce Christian values via his biblical lectures, etc. I was so impressed by him, I even wrote some favorable posts about him on this blog.

But when I began to really read his stuff and really listen to what he was saying, I started to understand that not only is he not a Christian, but has no desire to ever become one. He became a mega-celebrity at around the same time and when that happened I knew without a doubt that JP was not on the right side. He speaks some truth, but he doesn't accept the Truth. I had to repent in a big way.

As for the rest, well, what's there to say? The man made millions telling people to pick up their suffering and bear it, but ended up in a coma in a drug rehab clinic in Russia. I hope he repents, but I doubt he ever will. He is currently pushing his Personality course as a way for people to discover their inner strength to deal with our current crisis.

As for going against this evil, I can't help but think of the earliest Christians, who were among the weakest, most-downtrodden people on Earth - martyred by the thousands for their faith. Yet their faith eventually brought down an empire and transformed the world. Perhaps we are in a similar position now. Like the early Christians, we will usher in a new spiritual epoch. That gives me hope.

I also explored more of his material after his first rise to fame. While I liked a great deal of it, his non-Christianity was something that prevented me from exploring his work at any greater depth.

That, as well as taking the standard Existentialist readings of Dostoevsky. In my opinion, the two ways to read him are the Existentialist way and the correct (that is, Christian) way. Sartre, avowed communist and blowhard-disguised-as-intellectual, unfortunately popularized the former way.

I think the final straw for me, rather than the vacillating w.r.t. to Christian truth, was Peterson taking Carl Jung seriously.

@ Ingemar - That's a great point about Dostoevsky! There really is only one correct of reading him - and that is the Christian way. Thanks for that. It made my day.
