Join me in a little game of connect the dots regarding a few recent news items here in Hungary . . .

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that a recent exchange with Pope Francis in Budapest had "reaffirmed" him", and he quoted the pontiff as saying that "Hungary's fight to protect families" was one of the most important efforts for Europe's future . . .

Hungary is joining the European Union's procurement scene for "pecks" for children under the age of 12 and if there is a peck that can be given to this age group, Hungary will also get it, Gergely Gulyás, the head of the Prime Minister's Office, said at a weekly press briefing on Wednesday . . .

The minister said that during negotiations at a forum of employers, unions, and the government on the minimum wage, it was also discussed whether employers should be able to require their employees to get "pecked". No such decision has been made yet, but Gulyás considers it a legitimate demand on the part of the employer to be able to count on their employees.

Peck children under 12.
Lock out parents who refuse the peck.

That's not protection. That's a two-front assault.

I see the same phenomena in America: Trump, Father of the Vexx, who is *still* shilling for the Peck. It appears the System has both a Right and Left hand to advance the Agenda. God's gift of discernment appears to be the only reliable way to detect a sheep from a goat.

This sounds a lot like the "common good" conservatism that has been promoted in many right wing circles lately. As modern liberalism sputters, some people are blaming the inherent flaws of liberalism on having "too much freedom".

While liberalism certainly erred in promoting egalitarianism and materialism, the criticism of allowing too much freedom is laughable in the face of the last year. If one studies history, so called "absolute" monarchs had far less power than today's modern centralized bureaucratic governments. Government has expanded dramatically in the past two centuries post Enlightenment, not receded. Yet so many people are falling for the trap that we need more totalitarianism to heal the state of the modern world.

I apologize for sounding like a Chic Trac, but I wonder if the antichrist will arise as a "Common good conservative" or "Christian nationalist". In my rural neck of the woods, inflation is hitting grocery/gas prices quite hard despite having a brief semi lockdown last year. If things tailspin economically, can a "Common good conservative" seize power showcasing many virtues but ultimately being of the devil? I've known some people close to me who are normally on the right side of things but see no issue w/ vaccine passports or mandatory vaccines. To be honest, I 've questioned myself if I'm simply overreacting as many strong Christians don't seem to have an issue w/ the agenda.

It doesn't surprise me that secular leftists would go along w/ the System. However, I'm concerned that many people who should know better are at risk of being deceived. I've had to repent of making compromises that I should not have made. There is hope that the collapse of liberal democracy will lead to a restoration of Christendom. However, I fear that this so called "Christian nationalism" may be the strong delusion that Scripture warns about.

@Lady Mermaid I suspect that the author of this blog would tell you that most of today's "Christians" lack discernment. And he would be right if he told you that. Politics is the devil's playground and it is evil to support either of the false sides (they're truly only one side) in that arena. It's not the lesser of two evils; it's the evil of two lessers (which, again, is really only one lesser).
