The Peck and The Elusive Obvious

I'm not going to mince words or doll this one up.

If you have willingly submitted to the peck, you have willingly surrendered to global totalitarian evil. You have willingly caved in to the side that is opposed to God and Creation.

It really is that simple.

Take a moment to wrap your head around it. I'll wait.

Now, now. Spare the world your rationalizations and justifications.

You knelt down before the Big Lie. Even worse, you have willingly endorsed it.

Contrary to the official narrative, you haven't saved anyone. You haven't made anyone safe. You haven't helped get things back to "normal". You haven't added anything at all to what remains of the public good.

Quite the opposite.

Furthermore, your submission has strengthened totalitarian evil and has helped it to spread. Like it or not, you are now a part of the ubiquitous demonic pressure. Peck passports, peck mandates, paycheck deductions, threats of job loss, denial of healthcare, additional booster pecks, the relentless lies, manipulations, and propaganda - you are a part of all of that now.

I could go on, but I won't.

Listen up. If you willingly submitted to the peck, you must repent, and you must repent truly and deeply. That isn't me being judgmental - that is simple Christian common sense.

Repent truly and deeply and you can get back on the side of God and Creation.

Refuse to repent or rationalize your way out of repentance - well, that's between you and God.

In the meantime, get out of the way and let the rest of us carry on from where you so miserably failed.

I agree wholeheartedly.

The rulers of this world are openly and unapologetically evil and have been letting evil triumph for decades. Christians should have recognized this long before things came to a point in 2020/21 and proceeded with extreme caution.

Like in any loving relationship, I doubt God appreciates excuses. Forgiveness comes from true recognition of failure and genuine repentance.

@ islanti - I was aiming this post primarily at my co-workers, many of whom identify as Christians. Most have submitted to the peck, all without experiencing any formal "hard" coercion from our employer.

No colleague of mine appears particularly bothered by the idea of workplace peck mandates or any other form of social control via the peck. Most simply react with a shrug and mutter something about "having to do what needs to be done" or some such gibberish.

I keep being reminded of your post a while back on Adolf Hiremy's painting, the Apparition:

This painting does not seem far off from the current situation, those wolves are all those 'self righteous' 'birds', pressuring you to get pecked.

I am far from a saint, but found myself profoundly disappointed in a couple of my Christian neighbors - who went to the same Church - who proudly declared to me they had been pecked.

I had mistakingly thought much more highly of them.

"Proudly" is the operative word there, isn't it?

It's bad enough to get the peck, as FB powerfully argues, but one of the many things that makes this situation so weird and troubling is how people are *flaunting* their participation in the peck program, as if rolling up their sleeves for an injection is some kind of accomplishment. Do they expect a Ninja Turtle sticker and a lollipop?

While my family is GMO/vexx-free, I wanted to offer a Devil's Advocate position:

(1) Because it does not appear the Vexx is the Mark of the Beast that St. John spoke of (at least not currently), I cannot see how merely taking it can automatically condemn a person.

(2) Thus, it appears that it *can* be a sin like any other (the wages of sin = death), but the current Jab "wrongness" seems to depend upon the motivation (joyful acceptance vs. enduring a punishment).

(3) What does it mean "willingly" in light of the current oppression/coercion we see? For example, I have been contemplating the moral dilemma of having a close family member need medical services if/when they mandate "no jab/no service." There could be other examples (groceries/employment) where a person could sacrifice personal health (the jab is probably poison) for a noble reason. (As an aside: these questions remind me of the moral choices made by those put into Nazi ghettos before liquidation.)

Switching off from Devil's Advocate, I agree that the more people capitulate to Evil, the worse things will get. Fear is now the prime motivator of worldly people, and if we are not to be "of the world," we should be hopeful people who do not clamor to save this mortal coil at any cost.

I would speculate that our trajectory will lead to ratcheting pressure (earthly carrots/sticks) whilst the evil becomes more and more apparent until the final Mark is introduced (where the choice will be 100% for God or against Him). My moral instinct is that we need to practice saying "NO!" to this evil--right now--so that we can be assured later of making the Right choice. I think the best counter-argument to the Devil's Advocate, above, is that once we begin rationalizing our "temporary" alliance with Evil, it is a very slippery slope to making that alliance permanent, and thus losing our soul to save our body (which, sadly, appears the majority choice).

@ Magnus

1) It can if the individually eagerly and enthusiastically embraces the evil behind it all as good.
2) Motivation is indeed key, especially during a time in which the entire System is governed by the global diktat of none are safe until all are safe. The forces of evil are very keen to get everyone to "agree" to the peck.
3) Willingly means exactly what it means - readily, freely, unforced. It's one thing to be physically forced into taking the peck while simultaneously rejecting it spiritually. It's an entirely different thing to reject the peck spiritually yet still voluntarily get a peck for convenience/expediency.

And of course one must be brutally honest about what constitutes force, which in my mind means not being given the opportunity to act according to one's own free will/not having other options available.

I think we need to be careful about the whole nobility aspect. There's nothing noble about acquiescing to evil.

I find it helpful Not to try devising 'what if?' (thought experiment) scenarios about the peck (or anything else). There are a limitless number of these 'possibilities' - and zero possibility of considering them all (our lives would be wasted), but only some few will actually eventuate.

What happens is what happens; and we need only be concerned about our own lives and loved ones actual situations as they arise - those are the specific decisions we must make - not some general principles, supposedly applicable to all.

On top of this we have the lesser but sometimes necessary task of discernment about other people and their motivations - which is necessary to know which side they have taken. But this is not the same as the instances that affect us directly.

Thank you, Francis and Bruce, for your comments. I wanted to share a realization after thinking about your comments and stumbling upon this article: https://orthochristian.com/138187.html

In that article, Bekmurzov (labelled “dyed-in-the-wool anti-Soviet type" by the KGB), recounts the horror of the 70 years of totalitarianism and the lessons learned. The whole article is fascinating, but the following question and answer is struck me as relevant:

"... Q: What do you think needs to be done to prevent those dark years from returning to us?

A: First of all, we need to analyze and comprehend what happened to our people. How and why were we captured by vampires? How did we become serfs? The nation must draw the right conclusions from this seventy-year “Babylonian Captivity.” Forgetting our dark past means a threat to repeat it!

The beginning of any therapy is a correct diagnosis, and awareness of oneself as a sick person. Our society came out of the Soviet era with serious diseases.

Q: Which diseases?

A: The main one is slave psychology. We must realize that bondage is a sin, a disease of the soul. Christ says: I call you not servants… but I have called you friends (Jn. 15:15). Having abandoned our history and culture, we bowed to the beloved children of satan. We have exterminated the best people of the country (including Ossetia), the flower of the nation—writers, priests and all those who made up the gene pool of the country. When the moral compass is lost, evil spirits and mutants come out in the person of informers and snitches. Alongside the apples and pears, groveling, hypocrisy, lies, cruelty and envy flourish. These diseases remain with us. The descendants of informers and slaves unwittingly carry the disfigured genes of their ancestors. Do you remember the film “Repentance” by Tengiz Abuladze? The spiritual act, and hard inner work of repentance is necessary.... In Ossetian, Christ is “Chirysti,” which can be translated as “He who was ill”—He who was ill for our sins."

So, this reinforced and clarified for me *why* this focus on (1) discernment and (2) repentance is absolutely key then and now. The other hopeful element is that calling out such evil is paradoxically freeing (even if we suffer physically), because sin *is* bondage. Keeping God's commandments is freeing, liberating. It is not a burden. Love is never a burden but always supports, frees, and liberates. No amount of propaganda will overcome those truths.

Finally, Bruce's wise words made me recall a puzzling verse--Luke 12:12. I always thought of that as a "Plan B" for weaker people. Arrogantly, I thought it would be enjoyable to denounce Evil in such a time with tools of my own intellect. But, that misses the *whole* point of walking in faith and being receptive to the Holy Spirit--He (not us) is the perfect guide. As Bruce said, "what happens is what happens." I just need to remember to be more faithful and less fearful and worrying.

"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7

"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes." Ep 6;11

Submit, resist, and stand. As Bruce said, all individual, personal choices regardless of what others do.
