Way Beyond Mere Greed, Power, Insanity, Corruption, and Complacency

Many people are beginning to wake up to the fact that the world has gone terribly wrong, but very few appear to comprehend the true nature of what we are experiencing in this time and place.

Most continue to chalk up the unprecedented evil all around us to greed, power-lust, corruption, or insanity. They blame current circumstances on overreaching bureaucrats, deceitful politicians, degraded democracies, and villainous organizations. Others lay the blame squarely on the mindless complacency of the general public.

These observations are not wrong. At the same time, not one qualifies as being even half right.

What we are experiencing today extends far beyond secular, material conceptualizations of psychological maliciousness or madness. What we are experiencing today is unrestricted, undisguised, and unrelenting preternatural evil.

This preternatural evil includes the overreaching bureaucrats, deceitful politicians, degraded democracies, and villainous organization; but at the all encompassing scale of metaphysics, these highly visible antagonists are but the tip of the iceberg, held above the surface by mostly hidden but very real supernatural forces that are directly opposed to God and Creation.

Concerning the mindless masses - yes, they are certainly to blame; but the faults in their minds are symptoms of the fatal fault in their souls.

What we are experiencing today is the spiritual catastrophe of an emboldened, malevolent supernatural consciousness laying waste to a mostly oblivious and defenseless despiritualized human consciousness.

Until this is acknowledged, no amount of waking up to evil will lead to anything truly Good. This does not imply that the acknowledgment of preternatural evil alone will be enough to stop the short-term cascade of events in this world, but it will have to mark a starting point.

As a starting point, the acknowledgement of supernatural evil allows people to see the thing for what it is. Consequently, it provides them with opportunities to remedy the fault in their souls and to approach possibilities for right thinking and action, all of which undoubtedly influence the broader scope of the still largely unacknowledged spiritual war.

Because they don't believe in evil anymore and they can't see something they don't think exist. They've been inculcated for generations to think that evil doesn't exist, they even have a quote by Beaudelaire to use. It always makes them feel really smart to quote historical figures. "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing people that he doesn't exist". I used to hear people say that when I was a child and they would always laugh and I could tell they were very pleased with themselves and I wondered why because it seems like it refuted everything they believed. I tried to understand it as I got older but you know it turns out I was right when I was a child

They assumed Baudelaire was being sarcastic, a natural assumption given his way of life.

But as a child you realized that if the devil let on that he existed, people would begin to wonder about That Other Guy. Couldn't have that!

@ Whitney - There's much to be said regarding the power of "childish" awareness and intuition.

Well said.
There are so many well-meaning thinkers and journalists and scientists trying to oppose the current totalitarian coup using smart, but arcane and complex theories of, say, "mass formation," or economics/greed, etc. They can be a bit helpful to help some realize what is going on, but I've decided that the more complex an explanation is, the less truthful it is.
It should be something simple enough for a child to understand.
The corvid-mania is bad because, well - it's evil. Period.
As an example of the evil: one of my uncles died this week.
I had tried to get him to come to Thanksgiving dinner, but the group home where he lived would not let him. He was in lockdown, despite being pecked (and the peck had obviously degraded his health).
While the owner of the group-home was seen about town, at a restaurant, unmasked. While he locked down his clients.
I'll say it: that was an evil act, by a man who has sided with evil. Period.

@ Todd - The inherent evil of it all really becomes palpable when one experiences it on the personal level.

Tolkien (having fought the Imperial Germans in WWI) has an interesting letter to his son Christopher (in RAF training in South Africa to fight the Nazi Germans) discussing The Lord of the Rings as he was working on it. It includes "'romance' has grown out of 'allegory', and its wars are still derived from the 'inner war' of allegory in which good is on one side and various modes of badness on the other. In real (exterior) life men are on both sides: which means a motley alliance of orcs, beasts, demons, plain naturally honest men, and angels. But it does make some difference who are your captains and whether they are orc-like per se! And what it is all about (or thought to be). It is even in this world possible to be (more or less) in the wrong or in the right." (Letter 71, 25 May 1944).

Then again, in Lewis's 'romance' That Hideous Strength (1945), the (so to say) 'culturally Christian' McPhee, who has successfuly fought the Imperial Germans in WWI and is in his degree heartily part of the 'company', is forbidden to be involved in an action where the expectation is to be confronting someone consciously allied with spiritual evil.

What sort of spiritually "motley alliance" "more or less [...] in the right", can do what in "exterior life" to "oppose overreaching bureaucrats, deceitful politicians, degraded democracies, and villainous organizations" and "the mindless complacency of the general public" in their concretely destructive deeds as dupes of "an emboldened, malevolent supernatural consciousness"?

It has become obvious since 2020 that people evaluate all evidence according to their existing assumptions; and that this negates all (apparently) contrary evidence. Currently, every harm caused by the peck is officially attributed to the birdemic - even new 2021 kinds of harm in new groups of people which were not apparent throughout 2020 as aspects of the birdemic until after the peck was imposed. By now, it is clear that the birdemic is regarded an infinitely expansible, magical and protean phenomenon which can have any harm, anywhere, attributed to it: and then have this believed! That such cobbled-together nonsense is believed is, however, not unique to the birdemic - but is also a feature of climate change, antiracism, etc. Each is extendable without limit in all directions and credulity expands to contain them!

@ Bruce - The cobbled together nonsense permeates all of the litmus test issues, which does indeed point to drastic need for people to re-evaluate their existing assumptions, but as long as these nonsensical and nihilistic assumptions are maintained, the nonsense of the litmus test issues will know no bounds.
